Gujjars firm on ST status
Sikandra (Dausa), May 28
One cannot walk to the site where the Gujjars are protesting here without getting one’s feet soiled with blood. Barely 500 metres from the place where thousands of Gujjars are camping with the bodies of six of their supporters, large patches of dry blood can be seen on the road. The Jaipur-Agra road remained closed to traffic for the sixth consecutive day on Wednesday.

U’khand takes control of its Viagra cousin
Dehra Dun, May 28
In Uttarakhand, there’s been a free run on “Yarchagumba” — a unique herb-cum-fungus — seen to be an alternative to Viagra. No more. The government has empowered “Van Panchayats” to extract and market the aphrodisiac. It has good reason to. “Yarchagumba” is illegally taken out of the state and sold at more than Rs 1 lakh for a kilogram in China, Nepal and Hong Kong by common people and organised gangs.
