Mobile transformer for quick fix

The Model Town division of the PSEB here has introduced a fully functional 200 KVA mobile transformer for immediate restoration of power supply in case of disruption due to a fault in transformers in residential areas. Officials said there had been instances when the power supply remained disrupted for hours when transformers got burnt or developed a snag due to overloading.

‘Kidnapped’ boy returns

A 17-year-old boy of Haibowal, missing since May 19, returned home today, ending the four-day drama in which he himself made a ransom call of Rs 20 lakh to his father.

Rajan, Jagroop to lead Punjab teams

Rajan Sharma of Ludhiana Academy and Jagroop Kaur of Amritsar have been selected to lead Punjab boys and girls’ teams, respectively, in the 59th Junior National Basketball Championship to be held at Bhilwara, Rajasthan, from May 25 to June 1.
