keeps alive legacy of Begum Akhtar
Chandigarh, April 25
“If you want to listen my
music after my death, hear it through the soulful singing of
Shanti Hiranand”, the declaration came from none other than
the legendary ghazal queen, Begum Akhtar, at her memorable
concert at Vadodra, recalls the emotionally charged ghazal
maestro, Padmashri Shanti Hiranand, expressing gratitude for the
faith reposed in a disciple and the responsibility of legacy
bestowed on her. She was here in the city for a concert at the
INATACH festival. Shanti shared her association with her mentor
and spoke of her musical journey, with the Tribune.

Oil spillover on road causes mishaps

PU forms sub-committee to check funds
