CHB promotes engineer from back date
Now, three in fray for
chief engineer’s post

With the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) promoting G.S. Rosha as superintending engineer from back date, the Chandigarh administration may have to revise the panel of eligible superintending engineers for the post of UT chief engineer.
The top post of the UT engineering department is lying vacant as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has not been able to conduct the departmental promotion committee due to delay on part of the Chandigarh
administration.
Pay commission report ‘a disaster’ for defence staff

Terming the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission to be “not a disappointment but an unmitigated disaster” for the armed forces, senior retired defence officers called for scrapping the recommendations and setting up a fresh panel having representation from the three services.

New courses in biophysics
Chandigarh, April 21
To keep in tune with the industry needs, the biophysics department of Panjab University has started two new postgraduate courses in nuclear medicine and medical physics. The university is the third institution in the country to start MSc (nuclear medicine) after BARC (Babha Atomic Research Centre), Mumbai, that runs a diploma in nuclear medicine and AIIMS, New Delhi. Similarly, MSc (medical physics) is run by BARC, Mumbai, and Annamalai Univeristy.
