Town planner, 2 draftsmen nabbed

The Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a municipal town planner, Amritsar MC, Shakti Sagar Bhatia and draftsmen Mohinder Pal and Nirmal Singh of the local MC in a case of building bylaw violation.

About 100 parents today staged a protest against the Tagore Public School authorities for selling stationery items along with course books. The parents staged a protest this morning after they were told by the book seller that books would be provided only after they agreed to take stationery items worth Rs 800.

Jubilant students of BCM College of Education with their degrees in Ludhiana on Tuesday. 180 BEd students get degrees
Ludhiana, March 25
The ninth annual convocation of BCM College of Education, Chandigarh Road, was held on the college campus here today. As many as 180 students of the college were awarded degrees by Prof S.S. Bari, registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Lata Sharma bagged the first position in the college and fifth in Panjab University.

Param Pun moves to second round
Chandigarh, March 25
Param Pun beat Paramvir S. Bajwa (6-2) in the first round of boys’ under-10 in the 4th L.D. Kapoor Memorial Tennis Championship that started at YMCA, Sector 11, here yesterday. The other budding players, who made into the second round were Parth Rastogi, third seed Nihit Rawal, Santbir Singh, Rishabh Sharda and Param Pun.
