Infant’s body found: The body of a newborn baby was found from the abandoned haveli of Mr Baljit Singh, a farmer of the nearby Palasaur village here on Wednesday evening. The local city police has registered a case under Section 318, IPC, in this regard.

Check racism, Badal to PM: The Shiromani Akali Dal president, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, today called upon Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to immediately take diplomatic and political initiatives to stop the growing incidence of racist crimes against members of the Sikh community in some countries, notably the UK, France, Canada and USA. Mr Badal’s call came in the wake of a racist attack in the suburbs of the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, yesterday.
