Jolie’s guards held, released on bail

Mumbai, November 17
The Mumbai Police today arrested three bodyguards attached to the retinue of Hollywood star Angelina Jolie following complaints from parents of students in a South Mumbai school yesterday.

The names of the three have been given as Thomas Matt-Adams (47), Robert Patrick Dunn (35) and Michael John Brert (50). All of them are from the United Kingdom.

The three men who were arrested early this morning from the Taj Mahal Hotel were charged under Sections 323 (causing hurt), 504 (insulting with intention of causing breach of peace) and 506 (2) (intimidation with a threat to cause grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code were produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate's court in South Mumbai.

The three bodyguards were represented by lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani who sought bail for them on the grounds that all charges against them were bailable.

Bail was set at Rs 25,000 each. All of them were asked to report every day for the next seven days at the Azad Maidan police station.

Meanwhile, shooting at the school has been halted. According to online producer Kailash Surendranath who is in charge of the shooting schedule in India, the venue has been shifted to another location.
