Left gets it right in JNU poll

New Delhi: The four seats of the central panel of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union were divided equally between the Left-backed Students Federation of India and the radical Left All-India Students Association.

While the outcome of the poll was on expected lines, it was the victory of Tyler Walker Williams, an American, who won the post of vice-president that took the campus by surprise. SFI’s Dhananjay Tripathi is the new president, AISA’s Tyler the vice-resident, Sandeep Singh, also of the AISA, the general secretary and SFI's Jyotsna the joint secretary. — TNS
