Three Lashkar militants killed Srinagar, November 11 He said security forces killed three militants in an encounter at Gondoh in Doda district of the Jammu region last evening. The slain militants, including a district commander of LeT who was a Pak national, identified as Abu Saif Ullah, were active in the area since 1993, the spokesman said. People took the streets at Rafiabad in north Kashmir protesting against the death of a driver allegedly by the Army. Shouting anti-Army and anti-government slogans, the demonstrators alleged that troops of 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) killed driver Bashir Ahmad Khan last night. The demonstrators also blocked traffic, demanding immediate action against the RR personnel for killing the driver. |

However, officials said militants fired at the vehicle in which RR personnel were travelling at Rawocha, Rafiabad. They said driver was killed in the encounter between the militant and the securitymen. Shops and business establishments in the area and adjoining villages remained shut in protest against the incident. Two soldiers were injured in a hand grenade attack by militants on an army convoy at Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway this afternoon. — UNI
