Munda gets week to prove majority

With odds heavily stacked against him, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda was today asked to prove his majority in the Assembly in a week’s time after he demanded that he be given an opportunity for a floor test.

College girls consume poison, 1 dead

A student of Khalsa College has died while her room mate is struggling for life in the local Guru Nanak Dev Hospital following suicide attempt late last evening. The police has registered a case of attempt to suicide against the surviving girl.

13 killed in road mishap
Kiratpur Sahib, September 6

Near-unanimity in Cabinet on raising retirement age
