HOSHIARPUR 45 pc students anaemic: Forty five per cent students of 14 government elementary schools have been found to be anaemic with haemoglobin levels of only 9 grams during a special campaign launched to correct anaemia among students. Drugs seized: The police on Thursday arrested Balbir Kaur, Tilak Raj and Raja, all residents of Denowal Khurd and recovered 12 gram smack from them on Wednesday. The three have been booked under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.Effigy burnt: Members of the Unemployed B.Ed Teachers Union burnt an effigy of the Punjab government on Thursday to protest against the government for not making recruitments against vacant posts. Three booked: The police has booked the in-laws of Ms Mandeep Kaur, a resident of Tanda, under Sections 498 A, 406 and 34 of the IPC on the basis of a complaint by her that she was harassed for dowry.
