Coming under pressure from its allies, the Union Cabinet is likely to take up the Bill providing 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes in government-aided institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management and clear it for parliamentary approval.

Four Hizbul men held at Madhopur
Gurdaspur, August 20
The police here has arrested four persons allegedly linked with the Jammu and Kashmir terrorist group Hizbul Mujahadeen. The police has recovered 4.5 kg RDX, 2 AK-47 rifles, four magazines and .32 bore pistols from militants hideout in Madhopur.

Drug racket busted, 4 held

In a major breakthrough, the Delhi police today claimed to have smashed an international drug racket with the arrest of four persons and seized 100 kg of ephedrine and 3 kg of hasish worth nearly $5million from their possession.

Nepal govt withdraws fuel price hike

The Nepal government today withdrew the recent fuel price hike after two days of violent protests in Kathmandu and other parts of the country which left six people injured in clashes.

Walks won’t be for free on GND varsity campus
Amritsar, August 20
Outsiders visiting the serene and pollution-free campus of Guru Nanak Dev University here for morning and evening walks will now have to pay an annual fee. University’s Public Relations Director R.P. Sobti said morning walkers would have to pay token fee of Rs 120.
