Midair terror plot foiled
* 24 persons arrested in UK

A suspected Al-Qaida plot with strong Pakistani connection to blow up as many as 10 civilian airliners during flights from the UK to the US was foiled today with the arrest of 24 persons in the UK and seven persons in Karachi.

Privilege motion against PM rejected
New Delhi, August 10
In a decision that saved the Congress-led UPA government from possible embarrassment, Rajya Sabha Chairperson Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today rejected the breach of privilege motion moved by suspended Congress leader Natwar Singh against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the leakage of Justice Pathak Authority report.

Even as the people of this town were still reeling under shock after a mass grave of unborn daughters was detected in a pit situated in the vicinity of local Sahib Hospital yesterday, the district health authorities today identified another pit, near the earlier one, in which about 200 to 300 female foetuses were suspected to be buried.
