LeT-linked doctor held

Mumbai, July 24
The anti-terrorist squad (ATS) of the Mumbai Police probing the July 11 serial bomb blasts here has arrested a Unani doctor for allegedly receiving training in handling explosives in Pakistan. The police said the doctor, Praveen Ansari, who has a consulting room in Central Mumbai, was picked up by the crime branch and kept in detention for the past week.

The police said Ansari was linked to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). He had come to Mumbai from Nagpur after obtaining a degree in Unani medicine there before becoming a facilitator for the LeT. — TNS
