Price rise, terror rock Parliament
Both Houses adjourned
New Delhi, July 24
The Monsoon Session of Parliament began today without transacting any business, with unrelenting Opposition in the Lok Sabha disrupting the Question Hour, demanding a discussion on the government’s “failure” to check terrorism and the rise in the of prices of essential commodities. In the pandemonium that continued the Speaker was forced to adjourn the two Houses for the day.

Jaswant gives mole’s name to PM
New Delhi, July 24
Former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh is believed to have forwarded to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the name of a ‘mole’ in the PMO who he alleged had leaked India’s nuclear test plans to the USA, a day after latter had dared him to name the person.

LeT-linked doctor held
Mumbai, July 24 
The anti-terrorist squad (ATS) of the Mumbai Police probing the July 11 serial bomb blasts here has arrested a Unani doctor for allegedly receiving training in handling explosives in Pakistan. The police said the doctor, Praveen Ansari, who has a consulting room in Central Mumbai, was picked up by the crime branch and kept in detention for the past week.

Tourists stranded
Sangla (Kinnaur), July 24 
The Sangla valley was again cut-off by road when a cloudburst early this morning caused a flash flood in the Tong Tong Chee nullah, damaging the foundation of the Bailey bridge connecting this valley. Many tourists, including foreign nationals, were stranded on the other side of the valley in Sangla. (Details in Himachal page)

86 trucks loaded with FCI foodgrains go missing
Gurdaspur, July 24
In a scam unearthed recently in the district 86 trucks loads of food grains, sent by FCI to Jammu and Kashmir, have gone missing. The contract for sending the food grains from Gurdaspur stores to Jammu and Srinagar was given to Cadha enterprises.
