Terror acts should not stall talks, says Musharraf

Islamabad, July 18
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today said “stalling” of the Indo-Pak peace process in reaction to terror attacks “tantamount” to playing into the hands of terrorists.

“Any stalling of the peace process will be unfortunate and doing so because of the terrorist attacks would tantamount to playing into the hands of terrorists,” Musharraf told a National Security Council (NSC) meeting here, reacting to postponement of the Foreign Secretary-level talks in the wake of serial blasts in Mumbai and a grenade attack in Srinagar.

“We must not allow such terrorist acts to undermine the historic opportunity for lasting peace between Pakistan and India,” state-run PTV quoted him as saying. — PTI
