Sufi Sanstha formed: “Sufi Samvad Sanstha” with Mr Harkanwal Korpal as its president was formed on Tuesday. The other office-bearers are: Mr Manmohan Singh Dhillon and Sarabjit Singh Gumtala (senior vice- presidents), Mr Kirpal Singh Randhawa and Mr Rajan Gupta (vice- presidents) and Mr Rachhpal Singh Mahal (general secretary).

World Population Day: The Health Department organised a district-level function on World Population Day at Sri Guru Arjan Dev Government Girls Secondary School, with its Principal, Mr Birpal Singh, as the chief guest. School girls took part in a march.

CHANDIGARH

Dental education: The local branch of the Indian Dental Association will hold a continuing dental education programme on ‘metal ceramics’ here on July 13. The programme would be conducted by Dr O.P. Nagpal. The president of the Indian Dental Association, Prof S.G. Domle, would be honoured at the programme. Professor Domle is the Joint Medical Commissioner (Medical education and health), BMC. He is also the dean of Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai. 

Blood donation: The Bhavan Old Students Society organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Hotel Heritage on the hotel premises here today. As many as 116 persons donated blood. The medical help was provided by a team of doctors from the PGI.

TV show: Television channel SaharaOne will be starting a new show, Mrs Punjabi, from July 15. The show will be telecast at 7.30 pm. The show will be conducted by Ms Lovely Punjabi.
