Reliance inks pact with Haryana
25,000-acre economic zone Chandigarh, June 19
Overruling objections by Opposition parties and even a ruling party MP, the Reliance Industries and the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation today signed a joint venture agreement for setting up a
Rs 25,000-crore multi-product special economic zone.

has talks with PM New Delhi, June 19
Career diplomat Shashi Tharoor,
whom India has fielded for the post of UN Secretary General, met Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh tonight for 20 minutes. The PM’s Media Adviser
Dr Sanjaya Baru, described the meeting as a courtesy call by Mr Tharoor.

clears Lalu’s foreign tour Patna, June 19
In partial relaxation of the
blanket ban imposed on Railway Minister Lalu Yadav’s foreign junkets
till the conclusion of hearing in the fodder scam case, a special court
here today granted him permission to undertake his proposed tour of
Europe from June 23 to 28.
