Gold crosses Rs 10,000 mark

New Delhi, May 5
For the first time ever, gold prices today crossed the Rs 10,000 barrier to sell at Rs 10,050 per 10 gm, while silver rose by Rs 600 per kg but did not set any record at the local bullion market today.

Gold went up by Rs 185 per 10 gm at Rs 10,050 as against Rs 9,865 while silver increased to Rs 20,800 per kg compared to Rs 20,200 yesterday. Gold prices in the international market hovered at $684.10 and silver at $14.10 per troy ounce.

There was heavy demand from ornament makers as sellers were hoarding their stocks. — UNI
