Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in Punjab, fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, fell in Haryana and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was below normal in Punjab, above normal in east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.9°C recorded at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 5: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab. Isolated duststorms/thunderstorms are likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 5: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. The maximum temperature will be around 41°C.
