Centre extends truce New Delhi, April 22 The decision to extend the ceasefire was taken at a meeting here yesterday between senior officials of the Union Home Ministry and a three-member NSCN (Khaplang) team led by one of its leaders K.Mulatanu, official sources said today. The ceasefire with Khaplang faction was reached five years back in 2001, four years after the Centre had decided to work out a political settlement with its rival and major Naga insurgent group NSCN (Isak-Muivah). The year-long ceasefire accord with NSCN (Khaplang) will have ended on April 28. |
