Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and change little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 31.6°C, recorded at Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little.

Departure: They were below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 10.6°C, recorded at Karnal in Haryana.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 20: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 20: Partly cloudy sky. Mist likely in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 28°C and 14°C, respectively.
