CM on radio: Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, would speak on various issues during a special interview to be broadcast on the FM channel on Tuesday evening, AIR’s programme in-charge, Mr Janak Mehrok, said on Monday. The Chief Minister would answer queries regarding the self-immolation of Gopal Krishan, approval of mega projects, recruitment in government departments, and other issues, Mr Mehrok added. Death anniversary: The death anniversary of Pt Mul Raj Sharma, a freedom fighter also known in many circles as the “Gandhi of Doaba”, falls on Tuesday. He founded the Widhwa Vivah Sahaik Sabha, Punjab, in 1924, and succeeded in solemnising 3000 remarriages of widows between 1924 and 1939 when widow-remarriage was frowned upon. In consideration of his social services, he had been nominated as a member of the Punjab Legislative Council. Medal: Mr Ranjiv Singh Dalal, IG Punjab Frontier Border Security Force, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for distinguished services on the Republic Day. Rally: Hundreds of Punjab Youth Congress workers riding on two-wheelers took part in a “Prerna Yatra” here on Monday. The District Youth Congress (Urban) president, Mr Rinku Sethi, and Punjab Youth Congress general secretary, Mr Monty Sehgal, inaugurated the rally at the Congress Bhavan here. Workshop: A two-day workshop on “Customer Service Orientation” for the PSEB distribution staff started here on Monday. This workshop was attended by 25 technical and 15 commercial officers and the officials nominated by Chief Engineer/Operation, North Zone, PSEB, Jalandhar.
