Cabinet to discuss grievances of farmers on Jan 31
Takhtupura (Moga), January 14
A high-level meeting of the Punjab Cabinet will take place on January 31 in which grievances of farmers and transporters will be discussed, following which concessions for them will be announced, stated Transport Minister Mahinder Singh Kaypee while addressing a party conference here today.

9 prisoners shifted from Central Jail

Jail wardens withdraw agitation

Ms Ramesh Kumari, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barnala, today passed orders granting bail to Mr Sandhu. The application for granting bail to Mr Sandhu was moved in the court of Ms Ramesh Kumari on Friday.
Two travel agents arrested
Hoshiarpur, January 14
To check the menace of cheating of youths by so-called travel agents the police has launched a campaign and arrested two travel agents.
Mr Harish Kumar, SP (D), Hoshiarpur, said Raj Kiran Singh, alias Raja Pathania of Bajrawar village, had been arrested under Sections 406 and 420 of the IPC today and two separate cases had been registered against him at Sadar and Hariana police stations on the complaints of Joginder Singh of Khera village and Sarwan Singh of Machhriwal, respectively.
6 women caught stealing at marriage party
Kharar, January 14
Six women were caught at a marriage function on a charge of stealing cash and jewellery. They were later handed over to the police.
According to information, six migrant women went to a marriage palace in Balongi village where a marriage function was organised.
