Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24-hour change: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, fell in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: These were appreciably below normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.6°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 7: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 7: Cold day. Partly cloudy sky. Fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 4°C.
