Rain hits relief work in Uri
Uri, October 16
Heavy rains from Saturday night have brought relief operations to a standstill in this earthquake-affected area near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Incredible misery is being heaped upon the hapless quake victims as the rains left them exposed to extremely cold and wet conditions.

Relief to Pakistan hits Customs roadblock

Six truck-loads of relief material (56 tonnes), containing blankets, polythene sheets, powder milk and tents, collected by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee for earthquake victims in Pakistan were delayed for several hours at the Wagah joint check-post.

Quake in Pak boon for Punjab farmers

Last week’s earthquake in Pakistan, one of the major cotton exporting countries, shook the international cotton market too. And its benefit will go to farmers of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
