Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperature changed little. Departure: It was appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.6°C recorded at Barmer and Bikaner (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperature changed little. Departure: It was above normal in west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 16.3°C recorded at Ambala (Haryana).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 17: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
