Lid off bank guard’s murder

Gurgaon, June 13
The District police claim to have arrested the hired criminals involved in killing a security guard of Corporation Bank. The criminals had fired at very close range at the guard in DLF City Phase 1 while he was going to join duty in the morning on June 1.

As per the police, Navin, son of the deceased, had hired the criminals for Rs 1.5 lakh to kill his father. Addressing the mediapersons, Senior Superintendent of Police Yoginder Nehra said the case was handed over to the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) as it turned out to be a blind murder.

Inspector Sher Singh of CIA today arrested Honey, alias Mona, of village Dhanwapur for killing the guard Surender Singh at a police check post in the early morning today. A country-made revolver of 315 bore used in the murder and a live bullet were seized from his possession during the search.

He reportedly confessed before the police to have murdered the guard along with his three accomplices: Sunil, alias Tota, Surinder Singh and Ashok Kumar.

Honey and Ashok were today produced before the magistrate who gave five days’ police remand for the accused.

Honey reportedly told the police that it was agreed that Rs 30,000 or Rs 40,000 would be paid by the son of the deceased after the murder and the rest amount would be paid after a fortnight. Accused Surinder had allegedly arranged two revolvers and five bullets for the crime.

The SSP further informed that Sunil, Ashok and Honey allegedly snatched a motorcycle and a mobile phone on May 28 from a person in Sector 4. They used the bike while doing away with the guard. On June 1, Honey, Sunil and Ashok reached the Bristol hotel and started waiting for the guard. When the guard was near Gate No 6, DLF City phase 1, they fired at his head from the point-blank range and ran away.

Mr Nehra said that it was a very strange case where the son had hired the criminals for killing his father. He does not rule out the possibility of some illicit relation between the members of the family and the criminals.
