Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh — Dhundhi 1; Jammu and Kashmir — Kupwara 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably below normal in east Rajasthan, below normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 45.7°C recorded at Varanasi A.P. (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 31: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab. Duststorm/thunderstorm is likely at a few places in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and west Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 31: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. Duststorm/thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 41°C.
