Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have been reported at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Solangnala (Himachal Pradesh) has recorded 1 cm of rainfall.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, fell in Punjab and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: This was markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 43.8°C recorded at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 21: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 21: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Thundry development accompanied with squall is likely during evening/night in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 42°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of May 21: Development of thunderclouds is likely at a few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 kmph is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
