Cautioning the nation about excessive privatisation of the health sector, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said there was a possibility that this might widen the gap between healthcare services provided to the rich and the poor in the country.

Tortured over dowry, pregnant woman sets herself afire

A 24-year-old pregnant woman tried to immolate herself allegedly following torture by her mother-in-law. The victim, Geeta, who was to deliver next week, has lost her child and is struggling for life at the PGI with over 70 per cent burns.
