Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region. Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: These were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, below normal in Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 3°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 23: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours. Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 23: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. Mist/shallow fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 0.8°C.
