Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Departures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab, above normal in Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.4°C recorded in 
Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of January 18: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 18: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundershowers in some areas. Minimum temperature will be around 8°C.
