INLD ticket for Karnal lawyer

Chandigarh, January 16
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today denied the party ticket to one more sitting MLA, Mr Jarnail Singh from the Ratia reserved Assembly constituency.

The party has given the ticket to only 25 of the sitting 47 MLAs.

The INLD today nominated Mr Dharam Pal Gupta, an income tax advocate, from the Karnal constituency.

Mr Hem Raj Dhingra will be the INLD nominee from the Mewla Maharajpur constituency in Faridabad district. In place of Mr Jarnail Singh, the INLD has nominated Mr Gian Chand Odh from Ratia.

The INLD has decided to extend support to Mr Anil Vij, Independent MLA from Ambala cantonment.

BJP releases final list

The BJP today released its final list of 10 candidates for various constituencies.

The names are: Mr Sumer Singh Saini (Naraingarh), Mr Ramesh Balmiki (Jhajjar), Mr Jitender Gaur (Gohana), Mr Nawal Singh Dahiya (Rohat), Mr Bhagwan Sahay Rawat (Hathin), Mr Sayed Khan (Nuh), Capt Dharampal Sheoran (Badhra), Dr Balwan Sangwan (Dadri), Mr Bhagwan Saraf (Bhiwani) and Ms Durgesh Arora (Fatehabad).

Mr Bhagwan Sahai Rawat is a sitting MLA who was in the INLD till recently. Another candidate, Mr Ramesh Balmiki, is a son of former legislator Mr Banarsi Das Balmiki who was also in the INLD. The list was released by Mr Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan, general secretary of the BJP, here.
