Dismisses Musharraf’s remarks

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today
invited ULFA in Assam as also other insurgent groups in northeastern
states to shun violence and hold open talks. He said Myanmar and
Bangladesh have assured that their soil would not be used for anti-India
operations.

promises bus service from Srinagar to Muzaffarabad

Foreign Minister of Pakistan
Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri is almost certain that the proposed bus service
between Muzaffarabad in Pakistan and Srinagar in India would soon become a
reality. He hoped no minor considerations would stand in the way of this
important confidence-building measure.

issue of granting more autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir should be
“reviewed and discussed” and the dialogue process carried forward on
“sustained basis” with all groups abjuring violence, Home Minister
Shivraj Patil has recommended in a report to Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh.
