Pilgrims denied visas

Amritsar, November 20
The Pakistan Embassy today denied visas to at least 1,000 Sikh pilgrims who had applied for the same through the SGPC and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.

This is for the first time that such a large number of pilgrims have been denied visas without assigning any reason .

However, most pilgrims who had applied through the Shiromani Akali Dal (New Delhi) led by Mr Parmjit Singh Sarna got the visas to visit Sikh shrines in Pakistan for the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev.
