Legal Correspondent

New Delhi, September 9
The Union Government today extended the term of the Liberhan Commission, probing the Babri Masjid demolition case by six months to enable it to finalise its report. A Home Ministry notification here said the term of the commission, which is to expire on September 30, has been extended till March 31, 2005.

The commission, which had concluded recording of evidence by various witnesses and arguments by their counsel from various parties earlier, is now finalising its report.
