Rain brings respite, storm wreaks havoc

Heavy rain and thunderstorm brought much-awaited respite from heat last night, but wreaked havoc as well. The strong winds threw life out of gear by sweeping away roofs, uprooting trees and damaging power supply and telephone wires.

The Sehajdhari Sikh Federation (SSF), even though upset over the denial of voting rights to Sehajdhari Sikhs, has decided to join hands with like-minded parties in the ensuing elections to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
