Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, appreciably above normal in Haryana, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 46.5°C recorded at Amritsar.
