Departures: They were largely above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Haryana and Punjab, above normal in Uttar Pradesh and normal in Rajasthan. The highest temperature in the region was 45.4°C recorded at Ludhiana.
