Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: This was appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.7°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 9: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Isolated dust storms or thunderstorms are likely in west Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 9: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery developments in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 39°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of May 9: Development of thunderclouds are likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
