Roopa Mishra tops civil services exams

New Delhi, May 7
Roopa Mishra, an MBA from Utkal University in Bhubaneshwar, has topped this year’s Civil Services examination while Ashima Garg from Delhi University stood second out of 413 selected candidates, it was officially announced today.

Among the first 20 in the merit for the 2003 batch, seven are women.

In all, 160788 appeared for the preliminary test and 5973 qualified for the main exam while 1179 were called for interview. There are four candidates with physical disability selected this time.

Following is the list of 20 successful candidates in the order of merit: Roopa Mishra, Ashima Garg, Arshdeep Singh, Shurbir Singh, Anamika Singh, Haritash Gulshan, Prashant Kumar, Bhaskar Katamneni, Sanjay Bansal, Arindam Bhattacharyya, J. Kumaragurubaran, Priyanka Chauhan, Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit, Vishal R, D Vijay Kumar, Palka Sahni, Ajay Nagabhushan MN, Amit Kataria, Vasantha Kumar N and Mamta. — PTI
