4 die as school van hits train
Accident at unmanned level crossing in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, May 5
Four children were killed while 14 others were injured, six of them seriously, when the school van in which they were returning home rammed into a train at an unmanned crossing in Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar here this afternoon. While two died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

3 dead, 42 hurt in J&K, Bihar poll violence
New Delhi, May 5
A terrorist was among three people killed in Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar in poll violence that injured 42 others in the penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha elections today.

Barring stray incidents of violence, in which three persons were killed, voting in the third phase of polling passed of largely peacefully with an estimated 50 to 55 per cent of the 10.72 crore electorate exercising their franchise in seven states for 83 Lok Sabha seats.
