Carjacking at gun point minutes after passing of CM’s cavalcade
Faridabad, April 3
Three armed persons snatched the car of a businessman at gun point near Sector 11 last night. The incident took place near National Highway number Two, from where the cavalcade of the Chief Minister had just passed.

Cops strike it rich, 145 stolen colour TVs recovered
New Delhi, April 3
The North district police have arrested two persons and seized 150 cartons of liquor from them. The North district police have apprehended one person in the Tri Nagar area and recovered 145 stolen colour televisions from his possession. The police had received a tip-off that one Vakil Ahmed (35), resident of Okhla, would be coming in a Maruti car (No DL-3CN-7036) with some colour television sets from Rohini via Tri Nagar for selling them in Bhagirath Place.

UP Power Corpn indicted for poor service
Noida, April 3
The District Consumer Forum has indicted the UP Power Corporation for providing poor service to consumers. The corporation has been found guilty of wrong bills and mentioning incorrect meter numbers on them. In view of a large number of petitions from the consumers, the District Consumer Forum has ordered the power department to resolve the complaints of the consumers within a month.

CITU concern at raw deal to brick kiln workers
Sonepat, April 3
The Lal Jhanda Brick Kilns Mazdoor Union Haryana and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions today expressed concern over the fact that the brick kiln workers are not being given the new wages fixed by the state government. They alleged that the officials of the Labour Department have failed to enforce the labour laws on the brick kilns.

Staff to oppose govt move to hand over college to society

Opposing the government move to hand over the working of the Chhotu Ram Government Engineering College, Murthal, to a society, the Engineering College Employees Union has decided to organise a massive demonstration in Sonepat and hand over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner to be forwarded to the Chief Minister on April 6.

Two importers arrested in cheating case
New Delhi, April 3
The Economic Offence Wing of the Delhi Police have arrested two persons who were part of an import business for allegedly cheating an export firm of Rs 50 lakh. The persons arrested have been identified as Asit Vasisht and Amit Vasisht. Of these, Amit is the Director of M/s Fare Textiles Trading Company Pvt Ltd and Asit is a partner of a German-based firm.

Three booked for dowry harassment
Sonepat, April 3
The police arrested three persons, identified as Bijender, his father Jaiwant Singh and mother Indrawati in a dowry harassment case after a complaint had been lodged by Mrs Teena of Barwasni village. 

Bus driver, conductor assaulted
Sonepat, April 3
The driver and the conductor of a private bus were injured seriously when they were attacked by five armed youths on Sonepat-Rohtak Road near Rohat village, about 5 km from here last evening.

MCD directive on dengue: remove stagnant water, use insecticide

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has directed all health officials of its Public Health Department to take necessary steps immediately to check the spread of mosquitoes in the city. It has been done in the wake of four cases of dengue that were reported here recently.
