Kumar Bangarappa rejoins Congress

New Delhi, March 26
Mr Kumar Bangarappa, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister S. Bangarappa and former Minister in the S.M. Krishna Government, today rejoined the Congress, quitting the BJP.

“It was a tough time for me. For a few days I was in the BJP. I have suffered emotionally,” he told reporters in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister S. M. Krishna here. — UNI

Sinha files papers

New Delhi, March 26
Amidst scuffle between rival supporters and police lathi charge, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha today filed his nomination from the Hazaribag constituency as the filing of papers for the first phase of parliamentary poll on April 20 gathered pace on the third day with 50 candidates entering the fray.

The police used lathi charge to disperse supporters of the BJP and the CPI who clashed on the issue of who would file the papers first. — PTI
