Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: This was largely above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and above normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in west Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 9°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 13: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
