Iran radio says news confirmed

Tehran, February 28
Iran’s state radio, quoting an unnamed source, today said that Osama bin Laden had been captured in Pakistan “a long time ago.” The report said US Defence Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld’s visit to the region this week was in connection with the arrest.

Islamabad, February 28
Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri today termed reports of Osama bin Laden’s capture as “incorrect” after initially declining to confirm these.
Not true, says USA
Tehran, February 28
The US Department of Defence denied reports by Iran’s official IRNA news agency today that al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden had been captured.

A marginal increase in excise duty on various brands of liquor, incentives for the export of liquor, relaxation in permit conditions for home-brewed liquor in the tribal areas and reduction in duty on ready-to-drink beverages are the highlights of the new excise policy which will fetch an additional revenue of Rs 35 crore to the state during 2004-05.
