Mumbai/New Delhi, February 22
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the multi-crore take stamp scam, has summoned former Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and his nephew Sameer Bhujbal.
While Sameer has been summoned on February 25, Chhagan Bhujbal has been summoned on February 26.
The former Deputy Chief Minister is likely to be questioned on the appointment of several senior police officials, who have been arrested in connection with the Telgi scam.
Meanwhile, a Delhi court today remanded in judicial custody, for a day, suspended Delhi Police Inspector Puran Singh and Sub-Inspector Gaurav Aggarwal arrested yesterday in the Telgi fake stamp paper case.
Duty Magistrate Ila Rawat remanded the accused in judicial custody despite the CBI asking for 10 days police custody for interrogation and further investigation.
Counsel appearing for Puran Singh opposed the CBI remand of the accused. Both accused will be produced before the CBI Special Judge tomorrow.
