Mumbai, January 29 The company’s consolidated net profit rose 40 per cent to Rs 1,540 crore, while its turnover rose 21 per cent to Rs 18,864 crore, RIL Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Anil D. Ambani told reporters here today. RIL registered a 20 per cent increase in cash profit at Rs 2,335 crore and a 28 per cent rise in exports at Rs 2,918 crore during the quarter under review, he said. For the nine-month period ended December 31, RIL posted a 28 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 3,848 crore, which is before a voluntary retirement scheme, on a total income of Rs 54,066 crore, up by 14 per cent from that recorded during the same period of the previous year. The company’s consolidated net profit rose 31 per cent to Rs 3,944 crore on a cash profit of Rs 6,550 crore, up by 17 per cent, Ambani said. RIL posted a 42 per cent increase in exports at Rs 10,755 crore for the nine-month under review. Consequent to the revaluation, the company incurred an additional charge for depreciation of Rs 63 crore for the nine-month period ended December 31, it said. However, this did not have any impact on the profit for the period, it said. The company had also debited Rs 12 crore from the profit and loss account, being charges staff costs of nine months, it said, adding, these were deducted during the quarter. Reliance Industries Ltd today unveiled a greater roadmap for future and said it aimed to garner a cash flow of Rs 30,000 crore in the next three years. “We aim to become a company with cash flows of about Rs 30,000 crore in the next three years and join the top 200 companies in the world which have cash flow of more than Rs 10,000 crore,” Anil Ambani told reporters after announcing RIL's Q3 results. He said the petrochemicals sector, which was in the initial stages of upcycle with the prices still hovering around 50 per cent of its peak in 1995-96, would help the company achieve the targets.

Reliance mobile customers unhappy Kumarhatti, January 29 RIL launched its mobile services in Shimla, Solan and Parwanoo two months ago, but has not provided complete connectivity. The company had set up its outlets in these towns through private agencies and booked connections under the Rs 501 scheme. “Company agents have made a fool of us. Poor coverage and limited facilities is the reason why the subscribers are cancelling the connections,” claimed some Reliance subscribers. “While subscribing we were assured of quality services. But most of the time the service cannot be used as the signal is available only in and around Solan and Parwanoo. Only Reliance-to-Reliance call facility is available and that too is of no use,” they lamented. “Handsets provided by the company have become a toy for children,” pointed a panchayat vice-president, who decided to discontinue the connection. When contacted, a senior official of
RIL, based in Chandigarh, asserted that the company had applied for clearance with
DoT.
