Cold wave conditions are prevailing in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh. Cold day conditions continue to prevail in most parts of Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24-hour change: Minimum temperatures rose in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh, fell in west Rajasthan and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2.2°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 5: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 5: Cold Day. Mainly clear sky. Fog till forenoon minimum temperature will be around 5°C.
